Clarendon Syrah
Wine
Chalk Hill Clarendon Syrah is handpicked in the cool of the morning from vines nestled in the cooler foothills of Clarendon, an elevated site within McLaren Vale.
One third of the fruit is included as whole bunches in the ferment. The juice undergoes gentle fermentation with wild yeast before being transferred to seasoned French oak hogsheads and puncheons to age. After 15 months the wine is bottled.
Dark purple red, Chalk Hill Clarendon Syrah is medium to full bodied with brambly fruit flavours, fragrant spices and fine lingering tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
